The great challenge and impact of this intervention was, above all, the transformation of the living space and the storage of tooling and agriculture articles into a totally residential space with use of the attic, without altering the volume. All of this with the allocation of a new program and facilities, resizing of the ceiling and the expansion of the floor area, without the need for new construction.
Looking for fluidity between private space and social space, the 3 bedrooms are located in the least exposed area of the house, with the kitchen and living room areas directly related to each other. They define a meeting point between the exterior and the garage / storage, which has direct accessibility through the street and the garden, which allows the service route without crossing the private area.
The reuse of the attic reflects two distinct spaces: one with strict use of one of the bedrooms, providing this compartment with an office and leisure area; the other directly related to the living room, allowing the enjoyment of the office and the library, both with natural light and ventilation.
