This housing architecture project is part of a pre-existing construction with different extensions in annexes of poor architectural condition. Through a reinterpretation of the relationships between functional spaces, the goal was to develop a new space and project that attributes a higher quality of environmental comfort, overcoming the weaknesses in terms of thermal behavior, natural ventilation and use of natural light.
This rehabilitation project intends to unify the ensemble of the different types of construction and create a route with different functional sequences, distinguishing the private area from the social area that is in direct relationship with the outside and the pool.
The program is based on the T3 typology, the created of dining and living areas in direct relationship with the outdoor leisure space and a functional compartment, defined as a laundry room, with the location of the pool maintenance machinery. The circulation is structured by a corridor that connects the main entrance from the public street, with the kitchen and interior patio.
The pre-existing structures of poor aesthetic quality and poor housing comfort did not influence the final solution. The selected materials intend to present organic textures that make the interior environment compatible with the external environment, a low-density urban core with a strong natural environment. The use of stone on floors and wood on doors, ceilings and exterior floors create interior comfort and a fluid relationship with the outside.
